For identification everybody and everything has its own name and cast. Computer has also its own name and work-group. In formatting process, we can see that name and work-group option, which we have to set. A work-group defines a group of computers network and they are especially useful to be used for file sharing. If your computer doesn’t have its own name and work-group, you can give and set its name and work-group by using following process, so, see below and set its name and work-group in your computer.
Set your Computer Name and Work-group in Windows XP.
1) Go to my computer and right click it and click properties.
2) After that, system properties window will appear and in system properties window, select computer name and press or click change to change your or to set your computer name and work-group.
3) Type your computer name and work-group as your wish. For example, I have kept my computer’s name ‘Nabin’ and work-group is ‘Home’ and after it, press OK.
4) After finishing all process, click OK and restart your computer and after it, go to system properties window again and there you will see your computer’s name and work-group changed.
